FIELD TRIPS
Chicano park is a symbolic park. Chicano Park is in Barrio Logan San Diego, The main purpose is to do research on the park in order to contribute to its preservation by revealing the rich artistic and cultural legacy it embodies. The land of the park was a neighborhood but a company had built there and was causing lots of pollution in the air and no one liked that.
The Central Cultural De la Raza was first used as a storage tank for water. But later on they closed it and had the place for people to paint murals it is also used as a place to educate people about Chicano, Mexican, Indigenous and Latino art and culture. Features rotating exhibits and performances with theater, dance, music, and film/video. They also teach and tell about who had painted the paintings and how long it took for the painters to paint their murals.
In this movie it was about a famous latino who had went on strike for the field workers. He went on strike because the people who had owned the fields were spraying this spray that was bad for the field workers and it was getting them sick. People did not like this boycott because there were not a lot of people working in the fields to pick fruits and vegetables.
