Do You Really Know The Government?
There are many things that the government hides from us, but why? They hide secrets like aliens, Bigfoot, mermaids, what they put in food, etc. The Government says, “ The release of certain information would cause major embarrassment to some government departments or leaders.” Why would they be embarrassed its not as if they are sharing personal secrets about their lives. The government keeps secrets from us that the world may never know. Snowden was a whistle blower and told secrets to public and the government was after him.
The government has way too many secrets they’re keeping from the public. The first example is they have records that are 25 years old that were supposed to be reviewed and declassified. The next example is all the 25 year old records in storage can produce a backlog of 400 million pages. The last example is the ones doing the classifying have very little interest in shaking things up. So the people who get to read the secrets and classify basically dont even care about knowing secrets. So why is the government keeping so many secrets from us? Quigley, Bill said “In our judgment this inaccuracy is significant, as it portrays protections for Americans’ privacy as being significantly stronger than they actually are.”

You may be wondering why the government is keeping so many secrets. Well I will tell you one thing they are keeping more secrets than you think. The first example is the government collects information from U.S citizens that are illegal under U.S laws. So the government only wants secrets that are illegal. The next example is the information may cause embarrassment to some government departments. The article called Secrets the Government hides from you. Gaubatz Dave, says “Some release of certain information may cause embarrassment to some government departments or leaders.” Why should they be embarrassed, its not as if they are sharing personal things about themselves. The last example is they simply make an intelligent case a criminal case for knowing illegal secrets. So why is the government keeping so many secrets from public?

Even the president himself has ways of keeping secrets. The president knows what the government does and probably tells them things to do. The first example is the president and NSA are keeping massive amounts of information about surveillance of U.S and other people. The next example is the government created things to have access into all data bases in order to search for information on U.S citizens. Quigley Bill, says “The government seizes and searches all Internet and text communications that enter or leave the U.S.” The last example is the government asked for surveillance authorization and were denied many times. The people who denied the government probably didn’t trust the government because they are also against the government watching/knowing what people do. So why does the president himself want to keep secrets from us? Quigley Bill, said “The government if fighting to keep Top Secret a key 2011 decision of the FISA court even after the court itself said it can be made public."

In conclusion, the government is afraid of what might happen if we knew the secrets of the world. But what should they be afraid of? They keep secrets from us that the whole world may never know. We can’t keep secrets from them because they have their way of getting to information. But why do they want to keep secrets from the world? The government says that it may cause embarrassment to many government departments. The government hides things from public that we may never know.
